Today, on 4.01, the installing of wind measurement equipment started.

PAKRI Energy Grid (PAKRI EG) will be the autonomous smart-energy grid, consisting of 5 wind turbines (total ca 18MW), solar park (up to 3-6MW) and biomass CHP. PAKRI EG energy storing is solved by using NFUnit technology, what is storing energy in the form of ammonia (NH3) production.

So far PAKRI EG business plan and zoning has been on the way. Together with Tallinn Technical University the resources of renewable energy was modeled during 2012/2013. The results of the study gave the support to continue with PAKRI EG business plan. PAKRI EG locations average wind speed is very good, solar resource enough to produce profitable energy and there is enough biomass resource potential in the radius of 50km from PAKRI EG.

On 2012 the first renewable energy production started: PAKRI Science and Industrial Park Kivi 12 building is heated by PAKRI EG’s boiler, what is using 100% renewable energy. First small wind turbine test started on 2013. First solar panel will be installed in I quarter of 2014.

PAKRI EG wind measurements are done in the heights of 65m and 100m.

About the wind measurement equipment installation: “It was a small step for a man, but one giant leap for PAKRI EG” (borrowed from Neil Amstrong)
